Are you looking for a way to protect your special documents, prints, or photographs? Join Halton Heritage Services staff for a hands-on workshop to learn about the tools and materials to make enclosures to safely store your fragile or rare items.
In this workshop you will learn:
-How to measure your items to create an appropriate enclosure
-Encapsulate a document/print to protect it from handling
-Construct a 4-flap folder to preserve your items for the future
Tools and materials will be provided. Participants should bring their own document, print, or photograph no larger than 11 x 17 inches.

Join three acclaimed mystery authors for an evening of mystery and intrigue! Meet Greg Rhyno, author of Who By Fire, Elyse Friedman, author of The Opportunist, and Ashish Seth, who will discuss his upcoming literary thriller, The Cleaner, as they share excerpts from their latest novels, offer insights into crafting compelling stories, and answer your questions about this captivating genre.
Greg Rhyno is the author of Who By Fire, the first novel in the Dame Polara mystery series from Cormorant Books. His debut novel, To Me You Seem Giant (NeWest Press), was nominated for a ReLit Award and an Alberta Book Publishing Award. His writing has appeared in a number of journals including Hobart, Riddle Fence, and Prism International. He completed an MFA at the University of Guelph and lives with his family in
Guelph, Ontario.
Elyse Friedman is a critically acclaimed author of six books. Her work has been short-listed for the Trillium Book Award, The Toronto Book Award, the Relit Award and the Tom Hendry Award. Her short story The Soother, won the gold National Magazine Award for fiction, and she has twice won the TIFF-CBC Films Screenwriter Award. Her most recent novel is The Opportunist.
Ashish Seth is a writer and high school teacher from Brampton, Ontario. He writes fiction and creative nonfiction and has an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Guelph. In 2009, he published his first book, Come on Baby Take a Chance with Us: Issues in Psilocybin Mushroom Use, a collection of essays on the scientific study of psilocybin mushrooms. Seth serves as the secretary on the board for the Festival of Literary Diversity (FOLD) in Brampton. He is currently working on his first novel, a literary thriller, The Cleaner.

Each meeting provides the opportunity for writers to share their works-in-progress and receive constructive comments from other group members.
