KinderPrep Children

This is a registered program for children aged 3 & 4 years. The program will take place in the Children's Program Room at the Georgetown Branch.

Register once for this 7-week session. Tuesday mornings from 10-10:30 in July and August.

Children aged 3 & 4 years are encouraged to attend on their own while their adults remain in the adjacent area. We use stories, songs, and puppets to create a fun focus on literacy, numeracy, patterning and other early learning concepts where kids can see and meet other kids.

Registration opens on Saturday, June 15th at 9:30 a.m.

Please note that food and drinks are not permitted in the program.

All children under 9 require an adult to remain in the Library throughout the duration of a program.

Baby Rhyme & Romp Early Years

This program is for babies aged 0-12 months, accompanied by a caregiver.

Join us in the Children's Program Room at the Acton Branch for a 30-minute program followed by a 30-minute voluntary stay-and-play. Babies are born ready to learn, and we have lots of nursery, tickle and bounce rhymes to share with new parents!

This program is for toddlers aged 12-30 months, accompanied by a caregiver.

Join us in the Children's Program Room at the Georgetown Branch for stories, action songs and more with your toddler.

As they start to walk, toddlers also begin to listen and enjoy participating. With your support we will share fun stories, songs, rhymes and more as we begin practicing coordination and social skills while building literacy and learning together.

Blast off into the wonders of outer space and embark on an interstellar journey through the realms of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM).

Each week we will have a new hands-on craft or experiment that will take us on a journey beyond the stars!

How does the exposure to space affect the germination of tomato seeds?

Tomatosphere™ is a hands-on program where we will Investigate the effects of outer space on seed germination. Plant your tomato seeds, make your hypothesis and record your findings! Each week we will check in on our plants, make observations and complete an activity.

Drop-in between 2:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. to visit Kyle, say hello and hold him, while you enjoy a short story from the Short Story Dispenser!

Croque Matin Early Years

Il s'agit d'un programme d'accueil. Les participants peuvent arriver à tout moment pendant la durée indiquée du programme. 

Ce programme s'adresse aux enfants âgés de 0 à 6 ans et à leurs parents/tuteurs.

Lieu : Salle des programmes de la succursale de Georgetown.

Les enfants de 0 à 6 ans et leurs tuteurs sont invités à passer une heure ensemble à parler, jouer et lire en français avec des éducatrices d'On y va Halton.

Les tout-petits savent que le livre est porteur de sens. Chaque lecture que vous offrez à votre enfant est un cadeau dont il ne pourra que profiter. Le livre prend tout son sens lorsqu'il fait l'objet d'un partage entre l'adulte et le tout-petit!

Halton Women's Place is a non-profit organization devoted to assisting abused women and their dependent children.

Drop-in to the Acton or Georgetown branch to learn more about community-based services for women and their children who are experiencing abuse, including support, community referrals, safety planning and crisis counselling.

Writers Circle Adult

This is a virtual program and will be offered through Zoom.

Our writers' group meets monthly to provide support and encouragement to new, aspiring, and experience writers of all types of prose, poetry, fiction, and non-fiction works. Each meeting provides the opportunity for writers to share their works-in-progress and receive constructive comments from other group members. Whether you are new to writing or already have work published or unpublished, come and join our friendly group!

You must register to attend this online program. Zoom link will be sent out to all participants the afternoon prior to the program date.
