Location: Georgetown Program Room

This program is for babies aged 0-12 months, accompanied by a caregiver.

Join us in the Children's Program Room at the Georgetown Branch for a 30-minute program followed by a 30-minute voluntary stay-and-play. Babies are born ready to learn, and we have lots of nursery, tickle and bounce rhymes to share with new parents!

Seedy Socials: Drop-in Seed Packaging for Adults Adult

Looking for a volunteer opportunity that supports the Library and connects you with others in the local community?

Join us for Seedy Socials in the Studio at the Georgetown Branch, select Wednesdays from February 7 to May 15, 1:00-3:00 p.m.

Participants will assist library staff with processing our Seed Library inventory in a social environment, including counting seeds using measuring spoons, applying labels to seed envelopes, and separating donated seeds from the surrounding plant material. No experience required.

Make Your Own T-Shirts and Tote Bags Teen

Audience: Ages 12-18

Join us Wednesday, May 1st from 6 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Acton Branch for T-shirt and tote bag making! Bring your own items to customize or purchase a pencil case for $2.

Mini Makers Children

Audience: Grades 1-3

Cost: $40

Location: Acton Branch

Mini Makers is a program where we do STEM-based activities and crafts to grow skills.

Food or drink, except for water, is not permitted in the program room during this program. All children 9 years of age and younger require an adult to remain in the library throughout the duration of the program.

KinderPrep Early Years

This is a registered program.

Register once for this 8-week session. Thursday mornings from 10-10:30 throughout April and May.

Children aged 3 & 4 years are encouraged to attend on their own while their adults remain in the adjacent area. We use stories, songs, and puppets to create a fun focus on literacy, numeracy, patterning and other early learning concepts where kids can see and meet other kids.

Registration opens on Tuesday, February 27 at 9:30 a.m.

Please note that food and drinks are not permitted in the program room.

All children under 9 require an adult to remain in the Library throughout the duration of a program.

Halton Women's Place is a non-profit organization devoted to assisting abused women and their dependent children.

Drop-in to the Acton or Georgetown branch to learn more about community-based services for women and their children who are experiencing abuse, including support, community referrals, safety planning and crisis counselling.

Preserving Family Photographs – Genealogy Circle Adult

Do you have albums or boxes full of old family photographs that you don't know what to do with?

Professional Conservator Kyla Ubbink will discuss how to preserve and care for family photographs. Storage, labelling and more will be discussed in this special edition of Genealogy Circle to celebrate Preservation Week. This will be an in-person program with the presenter joining us virtually.

This program is a special edition of Genealogy Circle, which meets monthly to learn about genealogy research and discuss our findings. Whether you are just starting your family history research, or have already compiled an extensive family tree, come and join our Genealogy Circle group!

Calling all avid readers! We will meet at the Library once a month to discuss some fantastic books and do fun activities. This program is intended for children in grades 5-7.

AFTER YOU REGISTER, THE FIRST BOOK WILL BE PLACED ON HOLD FOR YOU TO PICK UP AT THE LIBRARY BRANCH OF YOUR CHOICE.

The program will be held in the Georgetown Branch Program Room.

Registration opens on November 28th at 1:30 pm and closes on May 5th at 5:00 pm.

Audience: Teen (Ages 12-18)

Come compete for a prize in the Amazing Race, hosted by Halton Hills Public Library's Teen Advisory
Council! This Amazing Race will go throughout the entire library and have plenty of roadblocks, pit stops, and
detours for everyone to enjoy!
 
You can either participate as a team of two (each person in your team must register separately), or be paired with someone when you arrive!
