Join Elin Marley, Director of Garden Programs and Environmental Education at the Halton Environmental Network, for a 1-hour workshop to learn how to harvest seeds from your food garden, and save them for planting next spring. Participants will learn how to collect and clean seeds, as well as how to store them over the winter. 

Elin has been providing educational programming in school and community food gardens since 2010. She enjoys spending time outdoors with her hands in the soil, sharing excitement with students as they watch plants grow, and is continuously fascinated seeing seeds develop throughout the summer and fall. And best of all, she loves working in gardens where she can eat the results!

Prior to the workshop, participants are invited to drop by and say hello to Elin at the Acton Community Garden from 6:00-6:30 p.m., to learn more about this community-led project and explore some of the seeds that are growing (and possibly ready to harvest). The Acton Community Garden is located across the street from the Acton Branch of the library by the Rotary Park soccer field. Free parking is available at the library or along Elizabeth Drive.
